About Alki Beach
Alki Beach in Seattle holds a significant place in the city's history. It's considered the birthplace of Seattle, as the Denny Party, the city's first white settlers, landed there in 1851. 'Alki' means 'by and by' or 'eventually' in the Chinook Jargon. Today, it's a popular spot for locals and tourists, offering stunning views of the city skyline and the Olympic Mountains.
At Alki Beach, there's plenty to do! You can stroll along the sandy shore, go for a swim during the warmer months, or enjoy beach volleyball. The paved path is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking, and there are also picnic areas for a leisurely meal with a view. Additionally, you can explore nearby shops, restaurants, and cafes along Alki Avenue, or simply relax and take in the stunning views of Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline.
